On December 16, 2014, the Manchester Conservation Commission presented to Doug Smith and the Hockanum River Linear Park Committee their 2014 Environmental Stewardship Award, in recognition of the many years the Committee has been engaged in cleaning up the river and clearing & maintaining its 9 Manchester hiking trails.
